The single most damaging habit in gym cleaning is spraying disinfectant directly at equipment. It looks efficient. It drives moisture into consoles, bearings, cable housings and electronics, and it is the reason a five-year-old machine dies at three. Product choice matters just as much. Alcohol-heavy disinfectants dry out and eventually crack vinyl upholstery — the split you see on a bench pad is very often a chemical failure rather than a wear failure. We use a product compatible with the upholstery and finishes on your actual equipment, and if your manufacturer has specified one, we use theirs.

Rubber flooring, and the chalky slip nobody expects

Rubber gym flooring wants a neutral cleaner and a machine that lays down solution and lifts it straight back off. What it gets, usually, is a mop and an alkaline product, which pushes grey water into the seams and dries the rubber out until it goes chalky — at which point it is genuinely slippery, which in a room full of people carrying weights is not a cosmetic issue. Mirrors, which are the whole aesthetic

Showers, change rooms, toilets, lockers, benches and the floors between them get cleaned and disinfected every visit, with attention to grout lines, drain edges and the corners where mould gets a foothold. Consumables get restocked before they run out, not after. If mould is coming back through the substrate or from behind the tile, that is a building defect and we will put it in writing rather than cleaning the same wall every week and invoicing for it.

The gym that never closes
